US President Plans to Give Red Envelopes to the Public Using Tariff Revenue!
The US President proposed today the idea of sending tariff refund checks to Americans, but the Secretary of the Treasury, Bensont, did not express support for this suggestion.
The President said he had a concept, which is "to give dividends to the people of this country, who have had to endure foolish leadership, they paid a lot of taxes but got nothing in return."
"We are mainly trying to pay off the debt, but we might also take a slice of it, pay part of it, and give dividends."
Previously, some lawmakers proposed using tariff revenue to issue at least $600 refund checks to each adult and dependent child, with a four-person family ultimately receiving about $2,400 from the federal government.
Regarding this, the Treasury's Bensont stated that the income generated by new tariffs will be used to pay the national debt.
