The President of Uzbekistan, the most populous country in Central Asia, proposed building a "China-Central Asia" industrial corridor.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan stated at the Second "China-Central Asia" Summit held in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, that he suggested formulating a long-term development strategy for the "China-Central Asia Industrial and Infrastructure Corridor" to fully unleash the region's economic potential.

President Mirziyoyev said, "Strengthening industrial and infrastructure connectivity will effectively release the economic potential of each country. To this end, I propose formulating a long-term development strategy for the 'China-Central Asia Industrial and Infrastructure Corridor'."

The leader of Uzbekistan clearly stated that this initiative is intended to attract Chinese investment to establish a network of interconnected industrial clusters, technology parks, and logistics hubs.

He also proposed constructing high-voltage transmission lines to connect China with the energy systems of Central Asian countries.

The first "China-Central Asia" leaders' summit was held on May 19, 2023, in Xi'an.
