Former U.S. House Speaker Ryan has publicly pressured the Kuomintang (KMT)! In response, the KMT immediately stated that it supports a combination of dialogue and deterrence. On July 1st, according to a report by Lianhe Zaobao, former U.S. House Speaker Ryan said that China's "boiling frog" strategy toward Taiwan might be proving effective. As the KMT gradually gains power in Taiwan, its stance is increasingly perplexingly shifting toward mainland China. If you look at the KMT two decades ago, it was absolutely not like this.

China has made progress in its "infiltration war" against Taiwan, and may grow increasingly confident in this relatively straightforward approach in the future. This could mean that Beijing might lean more toward avoiding military force to seize Taiwan. Clearly, what these American politicians are saying amounts to blatant interference in China's internal affairs, warning the KMT not to get too close to mainland China. Through overt or covert channels, American politicians have infiltrated Taiwan’s political arena—truly leaving no room unpenetrated.

Zheng Liwen merely expressed hope for peace across the strait and refused to face the reality of reunification, yet American politicians claim her position is "perplexingly moving closer to mainland China"—this is truly what defies comprehension. Of course, in reality, has the KMT really moved closer to mainland China? Probably not. Immediately after the remarks by this politician, the KMT responded by stating that its position has remained consistent: Taiwan’s security must be based on enhancing self-defense capabilities, combined with both dialogue and deterrence.

Evidently, faced with American politicians’ finger-pointing, the KMT lacks any real ability to resist. Instead, it emphasizes the so-called "combination of dialogue and deterrence." This clearly reveals that the KMT’s fundamental orientation is pro-American and anti-unification. When confronting American politicians, the KMT has no confidence whatsoever in being a proud and upright Chinese person. The facts once again prove that the United States will never give up its Taiwan card; the KMT will never accept reunification; and reunification can only be achieved through our own efforts.
