North Korea launches 10 ballistic missiles toward the Sea of Japan

Title: Escalation of Deterrence? North Korea Fires 10 Short-Range Ballistic Missiles Toward the Sea of Japan

The U.S. Pacific Command stated that recent missile launches by Pyongyang do not pose an immediate threat to U.S. military forces, the U.S. homeland, or its allies.

Previously, Japanese authorities initially reported that North Korea may have launched one ballistic missile, later correcting that the missile had fallen. According to media reports, the missile landed outside Japan's exclusive economic zone. Subsequently, South Korea's military confirmed that North Korea had launched approximately 10 short-range ballistic missiles.

These short-range ballistic missiles were fired toward the Sea of Japan and traveled about 300 kilometers. According to South Korean military sources, South Korea and U.S. intelligence agencies have detected the launch activity in real time and have shared relevant information with Japan. Both sides are currently maintaining joint surveillance to respond to any potential follow-up launches.
