Russia foils Ukraine and British intelligence's plot to hijack MiG-31 fighter jets equipped with "Kinzhal" missiles

Moscow, November 11 -- RIA Novosti

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that Ukraine and the UK had planned to use Russian MiG-31 fighter jets equipped with "Kinzhal" hypersonic missiles for a large-scale provocation, and had planned to hijack the aircraft.

The Russian FSB stated on Tuesday that it had successfully prevented the Ukrainian military intelligence agency and its British advisors from hijacking the Russian "Kinzhal" MiG-31 fighter jet. According to the agency, the Ukrainian State Intelligence Service had attempted to bribe Russian pilots with $3 million, planning to lure the hijacked aircraft into the airspace of the NATO military base in Constanta, Romania, where it could be shot down by air defense systems.

"Through a series of measures, the plan by Ukrainian and British intelligence agencies to carry out a large-scale provocation has been completely thwarted," emphasized the Russian FSB.
