Awakening, the Netherlands called.

It must be the Amkor Semiconductor incident.

According to the Ministry of Commerce's statement, indeed—On October 21, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao "responded to an invitation" to call with Dutch Economic Minister Karemans, and exchanged views on issues such as Amkor Semiconductor.

Please note: responded to an invitation.

What is China's position?

The Ministry of Commerce news release has a total of three sentences.

The first sentence, "Wang Wentao stated that the Chinese side highly values Sino-Dutch economic and trade cooperation."

Implying that the Netherlands' actions are really not appropriate, sorry for our respect for you.

The second sentence, "The measures taken by the Dutch side regarding Amkor Semiconductor have seriously affected the stability of the global supply chain."

This is a direct criticism, the consequences are serious.

The third sentence, "The Chinese side urged the Dutch side to take into account the overall situation of maintaining the security and stability of the global supply chain, abide by the spirit of contract, and the principles of marketization and rule of law, and quickly properly solve the problem, protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese investors, and create a fair, transparent, and predictable business environment."

It proposed a solution path. To untie the bell, one must tie it again. The Netherlands needs to take action to correct it.

What is the Netherlands' attitude?

In the Ministry of Commerce's news release, Karemans stated that the Dutch side highly values Sino-Dutch economic and trade relations and is willing to communicate closely with China to find a constructive solution to the Amkor Semiconductor issue.

I looked at it, and Karemans also issued a separate statement, saying: "This afternoon (nighttime in Beijing time), I had a conversation with Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao. We discussed further measures to achieve a solution that benefits Amkor Semiconductor, the European economy, and the Chinese economy. In the coming period, we will continue to maintain contact with Chinese authorities and work together to achieve a constructive solution."

Previously, Karemans also accepted an interview, defending the Dutch measures, roughly stating that China was wrong, and the Netherlands did not actually collude with the United States to target Chinese companies. The Netherlands did this because they were afraid of transferring Amkor's business and intellectual property out of Europe.

Did the Dutch believe it? Did the Chinese believe it? Did the whole world believe it?

No matter how they defend themselves, forcibly taking over a Chinese company's subsidiary is an open act of robbery.

Anyway, on overseas social media, the Netherlands was severely criticized. Many people criticized that the Netherlands' mentality is really problematic, actively submitting a loyalty letter to the United States, and finally being retaliated against by China, which is really stupid.

But the problem still has to be solved.

The Netherlands had no choice but to bow down and turn to China for discussion. Otherwise, even if Amkor is under Dutch control, it would be destroyed by the Netherlands, and more importantly, the Netherlands would lose moral authority and credibility.

But no matter how they discuss it, such an open act of robbery, China definitely cannot accept.

Just take an example, if China also forcibly takes over a Dutch company like this, can the Dutch accept it willingly?

Still, the third sentence of Minister Wang Wentao, watch the Dutch's actions.

Where is your sense of contract? Is this your marketization and rule of law?

The Dutch actions are truly shocking, unimaginable, and the Netherlands, who seemed so upright, turned out to be acting against the rules, which further exposes the hypocrisy of some Westerners.

Now that it's like this, then it's not polite to not reciprocate. Without retaliation, some people don't know their place, and don't know the basic respect.

Alas, in this world, ignorance is not an obstacle to survival, but arrogance is.
