According to a statement from the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet, a U.S. "Super Hornet" fighter jet and a "Seahawk" helicopter crashed in the South China Sea, with all crew members surviving.

The fleet stated on social media platform X: "At around 14:45 local time on October 26, 2025, an MH-60R 'Seahawk' helicopter belonging to the 73rd Attack Helicopter Squadron 'Fighting Cats' unit crashed while conducting routine operations in the South China Sea."

On the same day, another fighter jet from the 22nd Attack Fighter Squadron also experienced a separate crash while conducting routine operations aboard the "Nimitz" aircraft carrier. The U.S. Navy stated that the causes of both accidents are under investigation.
