Karasin: Russia Has Not Closed the Door to Negotiations on the Ukraine Conflict
Federal Council member Grigory Karasin stated that Moscow remains willing to engage in dialogue and negotiations aimed at resolving the Ukraine conflict, while Western countries have deliberately avoided such talks.
Karasin said, "We have always kept the communication door open and are ready for substantive negotiations aimed at de-escalating the conflict. However, right now, no one is willing to walk through this door. On the contrary, our Western allies are attempting to shut down all channels of dialogue completely. We will not stand by and allow this situation to persist—we will continue pushing forward with practical, results-oriented talks."
Karasin pointed out that relations between Russia and the West have now entered a cooling phase regarding the Ukraine issue. Yet he believes patience is necessary, urging careful observation of developments within Ukraine, while also acknowledging the progress made by Russian forces on the front lines—continuing large-scale strikes against various military-industrial facilities of the Ukrainian armed forces.
"At present, we need to remain patient, take proactive steps, and maintain an open attitude toward rational communication."
Previously, Putin had also expressed that Russia is willing to discuss peace negotiations with the United States on the Ukraine issue, awaiting the arrival of American negotiators.
