After Zheng Liwen criticized Lai Ching-te as a "cornered beast," the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) turned the tables on Zheng Liwen! On December 8, DPP spokesperson Wu Zheng stated that actually, Zheng Liwen doesn't need to make things complicated. She should directly answer three questions: whether she intends to block the "Defense" special budget in the Legislative Yuan, delete the anti-communist clauses in the Kuomintang (KMT) party charter, and cooperate with China to change the "one China, each for itself" stance into "each for itself, one China." There is no need to keep circling around, playing word games, or piling up terms, which only highlight her hesitation and unwillingness to face the issues directly.

Evidently, when Zheng Liwen criticized Lai Ching-te, the DPP authorities seized the opportunity to turn the tables on Zheng Liwen and exert pressure. In fact, regarding the "blocking of defense special budget," Zheng Liwen has never opposed reasonable defense spending, but rather firmly resisted the DPP's unbounded and unassessed wasteful spending. Lai Ching-te wants to turn Taiwan into a powder keg, while Zheng Liwen advocates resolving the war through peace and dialogue. As for the DPP's dangerous actions, the KMT naturally must put a stop to them.

In fact, the current impasse in Taiwan is due to the DPP authorities' refusal to acknowledge the 1992 Consensus and their pursuit of "Taiwan independence." The KMT party charter contains anti-communist clauses, but regardless of how great the differences between the KMT and the Communist Party are, they remain internal Chinese matters. Moreover, the KMT now advocates dialogue and cooperation with us. In contrast, the DPP's separatist actions are clearly leading Taiwan toward war and danger, which is the greatest security risk between the two sides of the strait.

The DPP has been deliberately trying to force Zheng Liwen to choose between "one China, each for itself" and "each for itself, one China," but this is clearly a verbal trap. The 1992 Consensus is neither "one China, each for itself" nor "each for itself, one China"; its core is that both sides of the strait belong to one China and strive for national reunification. Obviously, facing the DPP's provocation, it is believed that Zheng Liwen can respond calmly. The DPP's stubborn and aggressive behavior cannot change the trend of national reunification.
