South Korean media: The Chinese Lynk & Co 08 has set a Guinness World Record!
On February 17, the South Korean media "JoongAng Ilbo" published an article stating that China's Geely Group recently announced that its subsidiary Lynk & Co's plug-in hybrid SUV "08" traveled 293 kilometers in pure electric mode, setting a "Guinness World Record."
This record makes the Lynk & Co 08 the world's longest-range production plug-in hybrid SUV.
The Lynk & Co 08 was tested on a track in Mexico City on December 22nd, which was designed to simulate real-world driving conditions.
The record was measured by professional drivers traveling at an average speed of 50-60 km/h for more than six hours. This is because most of the electric driving time of plug-in hybrid vehicles occurs in city centers at low speeds for extended periods.
In the test, the Lynk & Co 08 achieved a world record range of 293 kilometers, exceeding the official 200-kilometer pure electric range. With a daily commuting distance of 30 to 50 kilometers in the city, this range means it can run purely on electricity for more than a week.
The maximum range of the Lynk & Co 08 exceeds 1000 kilometers, with a combined fuel efficiency of 111 kilometers per liter. If using a DC fast charger, it can be charged from 10% to 80% in 33 minutes.
A representative from Geely stated, "This record proves that Geely Group's plug-in hybrid SUVs can reduce fossil fuel consumption and pollutant emissions, and alleviate users' range anxiety."
