For the first time in 7 years: India resumes importing oil and liquefied natural gas from Iran

Against the backdrop of global energy instability caused by the Middle East conflict, India has resumed importing oil and liquefied natural gas from Iran after seven years.

The Indian Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has confirmed the procurement of Iranian energy resources, including 44,000 tons of liquefied natural gas currently being unloaded at the Mangalore port.

India's ability to resume importing energy from Iran is due to a temporary license granted by the Trump administration, allowing Iran to sell 140 million barrels of oil.
