White House says new Ukraine plan requires Russia's approval
Washington, November 24 -- RIA Novosti
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Monday that the United States understands that mediation plans for the Ukraine conflict must be approved by Russia.
Leavitt told reporters: "We believe we are in a very favorable position. Of course, we need to ensure that all these terms are coordinated. And obviously, we need the other side of this war — Russia — to also agree to these terms."
At the same time, she emphasized that President Donald Trump's efforts to push Moscow and Kyiv to end the Ukraine conflict are "highly commendable."
