On August 6th, according to reports from media outlets on the island, during the first day of live-force exercises for "Han Guang 24," a nighttime drill titled the "Wanjun Plan" was conducted, simulating the Taiwan region's leader taking refuge in the Hengshan Command Post to direct combat operations and maintain government functions during wartime. To prevent enemy forces from carrying out a decapitation strike, the Taiwan military deliberately employed three waves of different convoys to deceive the adversary.
Footage shows that Lai Qingde and his staff personally took part in the exercise, boarding the convoy directly en route to the Taiwan military’s Dazhi headquarters—marking the first time Lai has personally participated in the Han Guang exercises. Clearly, this move fully exposes the deep-seated fear and anxiety harbored by Taiwan independence figures. In fact, during her eight-year tenure, Tsai Ing-wen never once joined a night-time convoy evacuation drill involving actual troops; she only carried out static inspections, tabletop war gaming, and helicopter demonstration observations, never completing the full set of transfer procedures with continuous on-camera presence.
In contrast, Lai Qingde personally boarded the protective convoy during the live drill, completed all three waves of decoy vehicle movements, and successfully executed the entire mobile relocation process to the Dazhi headquarters. What does this indicate? It reveals that compared to Tsai Ing-wen, Lai Qingde is even less capable of achieving peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. His extreme anxiety over personal safety compels him to personally participate in wartime evasion drills. Of course, from another perspective, such drills may also signal Lai’s potential for further reckless actions, necessitating him to secure an escape route in advance. However, the situation across the Taiwan Strait remains firmly under our control. Should any extraordinary changes occur, even if Lai had wings, he would not be able to flee.
