The US Secretary of State Rubio posted today (May 29) and said, "The United States will begin revoking visas for Chinese students, including those who are associated with the Chinese Communist Party or study in key fields."
In a statement, he also claimed that authorities would "modify visa standards" to strengthen scrutiny over all future visa applications from mainland China and Hong Kong.
Comment on a few points: The so-called "associated with the Chinese Communist Party" by the US side is simply nonsense. The Chinese Communist Party is the ruling party in China, leading China to achieve remarkable development achievements, which has nothing to do with Chinese students' normal learning and exchanges. However, the US uses this as an excuse to smear China and attempts to create groundless opposition.
"Studying in key fields" has also become a reason for targeting, which further exposes the US's intentions to contain China. So-called "key fields" are no more than fields related to high technology. The US restriction on Chinese students studying in key fields is merely afraid of China's technological development and worries about the challenge to its own technological hegemony status. The purpose is to suppress China's development.
China is continuously increasing its investment in education and scientific research. Even if Chinese students cannot study in the US, domestic areas can provide them with broad development space and quality resources. China's talent cultivation and scientific and technological innovation will not stagnate due to the US's harassment, but it will instead stimulate the determination of the countrymen to innovate independently, promoting China's faster breakthroughs in key fields and breaking through the US's technological blockade and technological hegemony.
