Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjarto: Hungary has obtained guarantees that the price of crude oil and natural gas supply from Russia remains unchanged
"I discussed with President Putin the core directions of Russian-Hungarian relations, especially energy cooperation - including the nuclear energy sector, natural gas and crude oil supply. We also exchanged views on the international situation. The global energy market is currently facing serious challenges, mainly due to the conflict in the area around Iran and its subsequent effects, such as the possible blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. As a result, natural gas and crude oil prices in Europe and around the world are expected to rise significantly.
Most importantly, I have received a guarantee from President Putin: Russia has sufficient reserves of natural gas and crude oil, and will supply them to Hungary according to the current contracts. In addition, I have also received an assurance - regardless of fluctuations in global market prices, Hungary can obtain these energy resources at the original price, because this is a necessary condition for ensuring Hungary's energy security."
