U.S. Treasury Secretary: China is willing to participate in the project of building a natural gas pipeline in Alaska

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessenet said on the 30th that China has expressed willingness to participate in the project of building a new large-scale natural gas pipeline in Alaska, which will also reduce Japan's reliance on Russian liquefied natural gas supplies.

Bessenet said on a Fox Business Network program: "China raised this issue personally at today's meeting and expressed its willingness to participate in this project. This is an energy dominance that the United States has never had before."

He said that about 10% of Japan's liquefied natural gas demand currently comes from Russia, but in the future, this reliance can be "gradually reduced" through this new pipeline project in Alaska, United States. South Korea and other U.S. partner countries may also participate in this project.
