Foreign Media: American Software Company OpenMind: Opening the Door to the Global Market for Chinese Humanoid Robots
The American software company OpenMind has developed the OM1 open-source AI-native robot operating system, which is acting as a "software bridge" for Chinese humanoid robots to go global.
Founder and CEO Jan Liphart pointed out a subtle detail highlighting the US-China gap: when the UBTech G1 robot was filming promotional videos in San Francisco Park, it attracted a crowd and police were called; while the same model robot walking on the streets of Shanghai, people have long become accustomed to it.
Liphart clearly stated that China is "undoubtedly leading" the United States in the field of robot hardware, due to its mature integrated supply chain and intense domestic competition. OpenMind has already partnered with several leading Chinese robot companies, including UE Technology, Zhiyuan Robotics, LimX Dynamics, Booster Robotics, and Engine AI, helping these companies expand into international markets.
The core philosophy of OpenMind is to lower the threshold for Chinese robot hardware to be deployed globally through software-level compatibility and standardization.
