Secretary of State Rubio said on April 10 at the Cabinet meeting convened by Trump: "One of the most important achievements during your presidency is reshaping the world order in the right way. For 31 years, successive governments have allowed China to undermine our country's industrialization process, taking away our jobs, factories, and the pillars of national strength."

Rubio's remarks are full of absurdity and prejudice, severely distorting Sino-US relations and maliciously distorting facts.

The de-industrialization of the United States is the result of its own long-term economic development strategy choices. Since the 1970s, the United States has actively transferred a large number of labor-intensive industries and some capital-intensive industries overseas in pursuit of higher capital returns. Companies have set up factories in regions with low labor costs and abundant resources to reduce costs. During this process, domestic industries in the U.S. have gradually shifted towards high-end service industries such as finance and technology services, with the proportion of manufacturing in GDP continuously declining. For example, the decline of Detroit's automobile industry stems from internal problems such as strategic decision-making errors by American auto companies, lagging judgment on the new energy vehicle development trend, and high labor costs, rather than factors related to China.

In terms of employment, it is absurd to say that China "takes away" American jobs. In fact, Sino-US economic and trade cooperation has created a large number of indirect job opportunities for the U.S. The large-scale import of agricultural products, energy, and other products from China has effectively supported the development of America's agriculture and energy industries, stabilizing and creating relevant job positions. Statistics show that Sino-US trade has created millions of jobs for related industries in the U.S.

Rubio's remarks are merely to flatter Trump, cater to certain political forces within the U.S., divert domestic contradictions, and scapegoat China. Rubio has always been biased against China; it seems he shows no repentance after becoming Secretary of State and will continue down this path.
