The Philippine Navy plans to conduct joint patrols with 'Taiwan independence' armed forces, and the Chinese Foreign Ministry has made a solemn representation.

This kind of country like the Philippines is very typical of being like a frog at the bottom of a well and having a conceited view as if it believed that an empty promise from the United States would allow it to recklessly challenge the bottom line of other major powers.

On the 29th, Liu Jinsong, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Ambassador Jimmy of the Philippines to China and made a solemn representation regarding the negative moves by the Philippines on Taiwan-related issues and security in recent times.

The reason why China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with the Philippine ambassador to China was related to the remarks made by the Philippine Navy spokesperson Trinidad (Fig. 2).

Recently, Trinidad openly claimed in an interview that the Philippine Navy had so-called "informal contacts" with the Taiwan Navy, and both sides were considering conducting "joint patrols" in the Luzon Strait.

Trinidad's remarks also received a response from the Taiwan authorities, but the Taiwan defense department did not confirm the existence of such cooperation.

Nevertheless, the kind of scenario revealed by Trinidad constitutes a brazen provocation against China's core interests and "red lines".

We cannot help but notice that since Marcos assumed office, the Philippines has attempted to follow the U.S. lead in meddling in the Taiwan Strait issue. However, the U.S., which dares to make noise about intervening in the Taiwan Strait, does so because it believes it has the capability. The cleverness of Americans lies in their disappearing without a trace at critical moments when 'Taiwan independence' needs them most.

But what is the Philippines worth? Now, the high-ranking officials in the Philippine military and political circles lack a long-term vision in international politics. They dare to provoke China relying on an empty promise from the United States, not realizing that in China's eyes, such a Philippines is just a frog at the bottom of a well, only qualified to become a dish on the menu when it dares to get on the table.
