Argentina Issues Immigration Reform Decree: $500,000 Investment Grants Citizenship

The Argentine government issued Decree No. 366 for urgent circumstances, making significant adjustments to immigration policies.

1. Investment Citizenship Project Bureau

A "Investment Citizenship Project Bureau" will be established under the Ministry of Economy to attract foreign individuals who contribute to Argentina's growth.

2. Accessibility to Public Health System

Amendments are made to Law No. 25871 on immigration, adding Article 8 stipulating that medical services will only be ensured in emergencies for foreigners, and non-resident foreigners must present proof of medical insurance or pay in advance.

3. Public Education Reform

All foreign children and adolescents are guaranteed access to education, and schools should provide guidance and advice on regularization of illegal immigrant status.

4. Residence and Deportation Policies

New Article 20 reclassifies immigrants into permanent residence, temporary residence, and short-term residence, limiting the use of "unstable residence" to a maximum of 90 days without conferring any right to residence. Strengthening grounds for prohibition of entry and deportation.
