Twenty-five Democratic-led states in the U.S. have sued the Trump administration, opposing the imposition of forced labor tariffs on China and 59 other countries.

The states stated their support for protecting workers globally and opposing all forms of forced labor, but emphasized that the government cannot use this as an excuse to perpetuate what they describe as an "illegal tariff plan."
