Apollo 2 astronauts have seen the far side of the Moon for the first time!

This is the first time humans have viewed the other side of the Moon with their own eyes.

Reported by Russian media on April 5, citing BBC.

Today, crew members of the Orion spacecraft participating in the Artemis II mission shared their feelings in a BBC interview. They described their experience of witnessing the far side of the Moon for the first time.

The mission team includes NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, as well as representative Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency.

They are now in the third day of this ambitious mission, which includes flying around our natural satellite.

Christina Koch said: “Last night we saw the far side of the Moon for the first time — the view was truly breathtaking.

One of the most fascinating features of the Moon, and something completely different from what we’ve seen before, is its dark regions... This is a sight we’ve never witnessed before.”

Unfortunately, no images have been transmitted back yet.
