Macron: "The adjustment of US tariffs is only a fragile pause!"
On April 12, the South Korean media Incheon Today published an article stating that French President Macron took a tough stance on the recent adjustment of US tariff policies, calling it a mere "fragile pause".
Recently, French President Macron strongly criticized the US' adjustment of some tariff policies on social media X.
President Macron warned that "the US still imposes a 25% tariff on steel, aluminum, and cars imported from the EU, and a 10% tariff on all other products," adding that "this will result in a loss of 52 billion euros for the EU."
He pointed out that these tariff policies severely impacted French businesses and caused deep concerns across the industry.
Macron stated: "Our goal is simple: to eliminate unfair tariffs through negotiations and reach a balanced and fair agreement."
He also emphasized: "Our struggle is justified, as it concerns employment and welfare benefits in our region. We will spare no effort to protect businesses and industries, uphold economic sovereignty, and safeguard jobs alongside Europe."
He further added: "To abolish unfair tariffs, Europe will continue to negotiate and use every available means to protect itself and firmly defend its interests."
