Russia continues to build transport loops around the Sea of Azov.
On April 4, according to a report by Russia's Zvezda TV channel, in the Donetsk People's Republic, Russia continues to construct land routes connecting Crimea and transport loops around the Sea of Azov.
Denis Pushilin, President of the Donetsk People's Republic, and Valentin Ivanov, First Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, have thoroughly discussed the construction and renovation plans for the new segment of the R-280 highway, which will connect Rostov-on-Don with Simferopol through Mariupol and Melitopol.
The two sides have discussed the possibility of parallel construction of two sections of roads, 31.9 kilometers and 35.6 kilometers respectively. This will accelerate the construction work of these facilities and complete them within the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic by 2026.
Valentin Ivanov stated: "We will expand the road to four lanes and install engineering systems and street lighting according to Russian standards."
"We have strengthened the transportation framework of the Donetsk People's Republic. This year, due to additional funds provided by the federal government, we will be able to repair more than 450 kilometers of roads. Contracts worth 3.3 billion rubles have been signed for the repair of intercity roads, and this year we will pay special attention to this."
As part of the visit, Valentin Ivanov visited the sea trade port, where we plan to increase its cargo volume."
