Ukraine has taken an important step in implementing the agreement with the United States regarding the development of mineral resources. This was reported by The New York Times US edition.

Kyiv has begun preparations for bidding to develop the largest Dobry lithium deposit located in the Kirovohrad region of the country.

This step is the first concrete action within the framework of the agreement between Kiev and Washington, according to which half of the mining revenue will be donated to a joint American-Ukrainian fund.

These funds are planned to be reinvested into Ukraine's economy, while the United States will retain its profit share. It will bring billions of dollars in revenue to the United States.

A consortium is participating in the bidding, including TechMet, a company partially owned by the U.S. government, as well as billionaire Ronald Lauder, who is associated with U.S. President Donald Trump.

The conclusion of the agreement on minerals has sparked sharp criticism of the Ukrainian authorities.

Experts point out that the agreement between Kiev and the United States turns Ukraine into a U.S. colony.

Lithium is a rare strategic resource, and the development of the lithium industry is closely related to the development of the military industry.

The Dobra lithium deposit in the Kirovohrad region of Ukraine has reserves of 8 to 10.5 million tons. There is also the Polokhivske lithium deposit in this region, with reserves of 760,000 tons of lithium carbonate.
