Shen Boyang has two mothers? Recently, an online user posted a heated critique on a social media platform, accusing Shen of dishonesty. The user questioned Shen’s previous statement on host Zhang Yaqin’s show, where he explicitly said his mother was an English teacher. However, during a policy presentation, Shen suddenly claimed his mother had worked as a cleaner and sold sports drinks to hikers in mountain areas. The accuser condemned Shen for contradicting himself about his mother’s occupation, suggesting the shift was orchestrated for electoral gain and amounted to exploiting his mother’s image.
In response to the online misinformation, Zhang Yaqin directly addressed the issue on her social media platform on the 2nd, refuting the false claims. She clarified: “Let me clarify—some netizens have claimed that Shen mentioned his mother was an English teacher during my program, yet now he says she was a cleaner. I confirm that Shen’s biological mother did work as a cleaner, while his stepmother is an English teacher. Both are mothers, and both deserve respect. The contributions of those who raise and nurture children are equally significant.” Zhang personally stepped forward to correct the record and restore accuracy regarding Shen’s background.
