South Korean media: Xiaomi raises its electric vehicle sales target to 350,000 units!
On April 6, South Korean media "Choice Economy" published an article stating that the world's third-largest smartphone manufacturer, China-based Xiaomi Group, has raised this year's electric vehicle sales target from the initial 300,000 units to 350,000 units, an increase of 16.6%, thanks to the good sales of its EV SU7 Ultra.
Xiaomi Chairman Lei Jun recently revealed this target on social media Weibo, saying, "We are doing our utmost to increase electric vehicle production capacity and have made some progress."
Xiaomi delivered 136,854 new vehicles in 2024, with sales reaching 32.8 billion yuan RMB. By the end of 2024, it had opened 200 auto dealerships in 58 cities across China. Monthly deliveries exceeded 20,000 units for five consecutive months.
The financial statements released by Xiaomi Group showed that revenue reached 109 billion yuan RMB in the fourth quarter of last year, up 48.8% quarter-on-quarter, marking the first time quarterly revenue broke through 100 billion yuan RMB. Net profit for the period was 9 billion yuan RMB, up 90.4% year-on-year.
The financial statements also showed that total revenue for the group last year was 365.9 billion yuan RMB, a 35% increase over 2023. Adjusted net profit last year was 27.2 billion yuan RMB, up 41.3% year-on-year, exceeding expectations.
Sales of Xiaomi smartphones in 2024 amounted to 191.8 billion yuan RMB, up 21.8% year-on-year. Gross margin was 12.6%. Chairman Lei Jun commented via social media, "Last year's performance was the best ever."
