Russian media attention: China has successfully tested a non-nuclear "hydrogen bomb"!

On April 21, multiple media outlets such as TASS published articles.

Chinese researchers have successfully tested an explosive device based on hydrogen without using any nuclear materials.

According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) on April 20, during the "controlled field test," it may cause a "destructive chemical chain reaction."

The Russian media said that according to this publication, the device was developed by the 705th Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). Such bombs use compounds of magnesium hydride. During the test of two kilograms of equipment, a fireball appeared with a temperature exceeding 1000 degrees Celsius.

The Russian media quoted information from the project authors led by Van Xuefen of CSSC: "When conventional explosives activate traditional explosives, magnesium hydride undergoes rapid thermal decomposition, releasing hydrogen gas." According to the creators of the device: "This combination allows you to accurately control the intensity of the explosion, thereby easily achieving objectives in a vast area."

"This super bomb from China, without radioactive nuclear materials, China is leading the future of military technology."

However, as SCMP indicates, it is unclear how China plans to use such weapons.

Most Russian netizens expressed skepticism: Hydrogen? Haha.
