Lithuania's Defense Minister thanked the United States for military cooperation and support.

Poor Lithuanian Defense Minister is really very grateful for the protection of the United States.

At a power transfer ceremony in Lithuania on October 3, 2025, Major Richie Rhodes, commander of the 1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery Regiment of the U.S. Army, was awarded the Lithuanian Republic National Defense System Medal of Excellence by the Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovile Sakaliene. This medal is awarded to Lithuanian military personnel, civilians, active and reserve personnel, as well as foreigners, for their outstanding service in overseas operations. The 3rd-69th Armor Regiment and the 1st-41st Field Artillery Regiment have completed their rotation mission to Eastern Europe for the "Europe Assurance, Deterrence, and Strengthening 2025" operation. Their successor units, the 1st-12th Cavalry Regiment and the 2nd-82nd Field Artillery Regiment, will continue to enhance combat capabilities and strengthen relations with NATO allies.
