NVIDIA to supply over 260,000 Blackwell AI chips to South Korea
American semiconductor giant NVIDIA said on Friday that it will supply more than 260,000 of its most advanced artificial intelligence chips to the South Korean government and some of the country's largest companies.
For South Korea, this agreement will put the country on a path to becoming a regional artificial intelligence hub. Following President Lee Jae-myung, who took office on June 4, prioritized investments in artificial intelligence to stimulate economic growth. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said: "Just as South Korea's manufacturing plants have inspired the world with precision ships, cars, chips, and electronic products, South Korea can now produce smart products, which will serve as a new export item, driving global transformation."
During the APEC Summit, Huang met with leaders from Samsung, SK Group, and Hyundai Motor Group, and then announced this news.
