Lin Junxian, a legislator from the DPP, posted on social media yesterday, first cautioning supporters to adopt a mindset of "cautious vigilance" and not to underestimate Jiang Wan’an. He emphasized that Jiang, benefiting from re-election advantages and control over extensive municipal resources, has access to all kinds of information—whether it’s a few bottles of milk or a handful of rats, he can account for them precisely. Lin then mocked Jiang’s two-day self-imposed isolation, suggesting his memorization skills have markedly improved. From previously stumbling during speeches at the Taipei Dome, Jiang might now be able to recite even adjectives verbatim, and may no longer rely on phrases like “actually” or “including” as opening lines.
Shifting tone, Lin revealed that having worked alongside Jiang for several years, he felt compelled to share some personal reflections. He noted that Jiang is actually a gentle person; footage from 2020 shows them enjoying barbecue and relaxed conversation. Yet, only a few years later, the transformation brought on by electoral pressures seems to have significantly altered his demeanor. Managing Taipei City may well exceed Jiang’s capabilities.
In recent days, Lin observed, the campaign has increasingly resembled a melodrama. Even as a former colleague, he admitted feeling genuine concern. In closing, he urged voters who care about Jiang’s well-being and Taipei’s future to support Shen Boyang, allowing Jiang to step back, rest, and return to his former self—optimistic, cheerful, and free from worry.
It has emerged that Lin recently distributed promotional items in Taipei, but made two noticeable verbal slips. On both occasions, he mistakenly said, “We have Su Qiaohui and Jiang Wan’an,” before adding, “We must vote, vote for Jiang… Shen Boyang, Su Qiaohui.” The official WeChat account “Zhengke Shuang” sharply criticized the incident, pointing out that Jiang had just called on supporters to come forward, and Lin promptly appeared to do so.
“Is he too eager to vote for Jiang Wan’an?” asked Zhengke Shuang. Lin began by declaring, “We have Jiang Wan’an,” and continued naturally—only for Ma Yuyun to quickly correct him. Yet during the second attempt, Lin repeated the error, saying “vote for Jiang Wan’an!” The account sarcastically remarked: “This must be true affection. After being corrected, he still gets it wrong. Honestly, are you really friends?”
