Trump believes a lasting peace will be achieved between Russia and Ukraine in the future, which differs from the U.S.-Iran agreement.
U.S. President Trump stated that any peace agreement reached between Russia and Ukraine in the future would be durable, unlike the ceasefire agreement previously reached between the United States and Iran.
During a meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump told reporters: "I believe that if we can resolve (the Ukrainian conflict), this agreement will be lasting."
Trump pointed out that he expects the conflict between Russia and Ukraine would not reignite if a peace agreement is reached.
Trump added: "If we reach an agreement with Iran, I'm not sure it will last."
