Trump: The Strait of Hormuz Could "Automatically" Open, But Without Iran at the Table, There’s No "Ace in the Hole"
U.S. President Trump said that if a deal is reached between the U.S. and Iran, the Strait of Hormuz would "automatically" open.
He told reporters: "It will open automatically."
Trump stated that maritime freedom through the Strait of Hormuz will soon be restored regardless of whether Iran participates in negotiations.
Before flying to Charlottesville, Virginia, Trump told reporters: "We intend to open the strait with them [Iran], perhaps even without their involvement, but the strait will open."
Trump wished Vice President Vance success in the upcoming negotiations scheduled for November 11 in Islamabad with Iran.
Trump said that Iran seemingly does not realize that beyond controlling the Strait of Hormuz, it has no "ace in the hole" in peace talks.
In a post on his social media platform "Truth Social," he wrote: "It seems Iranians don’t realize they have no 'ace in the hole' other than using international waterways to extort the world temporarily."
Trump pointed out that Iran’s current sole objective is to engage in negotiations.
In another post, he said: "The Iranians are better at fabricating fake news and running PR campaigns than fighting!"
