On March 21, the Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Rear Admiral Alexey Nizhnyapapa, reviewed the heroic deeds of naval cadets who did not betray Ukraine during the annexation of Crimea. This brave act "showed loyalty, which could not be destroyed by fear or pressure from the occupiers."
Nizhnyapapa recalled: "On March 21, 2014, a grand 'traitor' meeting was held at the Nakhimov Naval Academy in Sevastopol, which was occupied by Russian forces."
At that very moment, the loyal cadets sang the Ukrainian national anthem while raising the Russian flag.
After the transfer of the academy, these cadets completed their studies at the "Odesa Maritime College" of the National University, became officers, and now command ships and units, continuing to fight against the enemy."
