China has developed a "mini bullet" for Soviet machine guns!
Netizens: I am very skeptical about using this type of ammunition, it's just fantasy!
Reported by Russian newspaper on September 8.
Chinese engineers have developed a new 14.5x114 mm ammunition for the Soviet heavy machine gun KPV.
The Telegram channel "War History Weapons" pointed out: The structure of this ammunition is similar to the supersonic armor-piercing shell of tanks.
The ammunition carries a small tungsten projectile covered with a tray.
It replaces the armor-piercing incendiary bullet BS-41 that contains a tungsten carbide core.
The new bullet can penetrate 30 mm of armor at a distance of 200 meters,
and can penetrate 20 mm of armor plate at a distance of 1000 meters.
The KPV heavy machine gun is a heavy machine gun made in the Soviet Union,
it was designated as infantry weapon in 1949, but due to its large size and weight, it was changed to an air defense weapon in the 1960s.
China has also imitated the KPV, named the Type 56 14.5 mm quadruple anti-aircraft machine gun.......
