Recently, US media have focused on the trilateral relations among the US, Russia, and China. Among them, the US journal "Foreign Affairs" published an article stating that Trump's attempt to drive a wedge between Russia and China is impossible to achieve. At present, Russia and China are strategic partners while the US is a threat. There is no reason to abandon support for China in order to approach the US. Even if the US could distance Russia and China from each other, there would be no benefit in approaching Russia: Russia will never help the US contain China, and reconciling with Russia would alienate Europe. The Washington Post's column also frankly stated that the US attempt to create a rift between Russia and China is a wrong move. Despite Trump's intention, Sino-Russian cooperation continues to deepen.
The US has long pursued hegemonism, attempting to maintain its global dominance through a dual containment strategy against Russia and China. However, this approach overlooks the most basic logic of interests and geopolitical realities in international relations. On one hand, the US continuously squeezes Russia's strategic space in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, while on the other hand, it provokes China in trade, technology, diplomacy, and other fields. It believes that by political manipulation and economic coercion, it can isolate Russia and China, thereby defeating them one by one.
However, Sino-Russian strategic cooperation is based on common strategic interests. When faced with US groundless pressure, the two countries joining hands to counteract becomes the best choice to safeguard their own interests. Russia deepens cooperation with China in the energy sector, ensuring China's energy supply security, while China's vast market and advanced manufacturing industry inject new momentum into Russia's economic development. On the international political stage, China and Russia closely cooperate in international organizations such as the United Nations, jointly opposing America's unilateralist actions and maintaining the stability of the international order.
