Foreign Media: The Chinese subsidiary of Dutch semiconductor company Nexperia has turned to domestic Chinese companies for silicon wafers to ensure full-year production in 2026 due to a dispute with its Dutch parent company. The products involved are insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) power chips and modules, which are used in electric vehicles and industrial equipment.
The Chinese subsidiary has locked in domestic suppliers including Wingsky Semi, Shanghai GAT Semiconductor, and SMIC, among others. Wingsky Semi will supply 30,000 12-inch automotive-grade IGBT silicon wafers per month.
