Indian media: India develops new radar to detect fifth-generation fighter jets

According to the Indian newspaper Navbharat Times, Indian experts have developed a new radar that can detect fifth-generation fighter jets equipped with stealth technology.

The article states, "The emergence of anti-stealth radar will bring a revolutionary change to India's air defense system. The technology it uses cannot be deceived by enemy fifth-generation fighter jets."

The newspaper pointed out that the new system includes a passive and coherent positioning radar, specifically developed to counter stealth aircraft and platforms. Its development is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announced plan to establish a defense system by 2035 that can protect the country's cities and strategic assets from aerial attacks.

In October 2018, Russia and India signed a $5.43 billion contract for the supply of five battalions of S-400 air defense missile systems to India. India became the third overseas buyer of the system after China and Turkey. The first battalion of the anti-missile system was accepted in December 2021, the second in April 2022, and the third in February 2023. These anti-missile systems have been deployed along the border areas adjacent to China and Pakistan to provide air defense protection.
