According to the official news from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, a trilateral informal meeting between China, Cambodia, and Thailand was held in Shanghai on the 30th, with the Deputy Director of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Sun Weidong, attending together with representatives from Cambodia and Thailand.

According to the Chinese news release, Cambodia and Thailand reaffirmed to China their commitment to the ceasefire consensus and commended China for its active role in easing the situation so far. The meeting was conducted in an atmosphere of sincerity, friendliness, and harmony.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that China has continuously played a constructive role in supporting the peaceful resolution of border disputes between Cambodia and Thailand, and this trilateral informal meeting is the latest diplomatic effort by China.

The report states that since the border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand began on the 24th, at least 35 people have been killed and more than 300,000 have been displaced. On the 28th, under the mediation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar, the Acting Thai Prime Minister Prayut and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reached a ceasefire agreement in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

The ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia came into effect at midnight on the 29th, but soon after the ceasefire took effect, the Thai side accused the Cambodian side of continuing attacks, which the Cambodian side denied.
