In the next four years, Kazakhstan will invest 2.7 trillion tenge to renovate 77,500 kilometers of power grid

(Report of Kazakh International News Agency) Aslanjan Musin, Director of the Electric Power Development Department of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy, stated at the "Power Central Asia + China" regional energy forum on June 17 that by 2029, Kazakhstan plans to invest 2.7 trillion tenge to modernize a total of 77,500 kilometers of transmission lines.

"According to the national electric power development plan, Kazakhstan will invest 2.7 trillion tenge to renovate 77,500 kilometers of transmission lines across the country. After reviewing the submitted project applications, the Ministry of Energy has approved 47 electric power supply-related projects, involving a total length of over 1,000 kilometers of line renovation, with a total investment amounting to 89.7 billion tenge, including 46.7 billion tenge planned for 2025," Musin said at the meeting.

He added that the key materials and equipment lists required for these 47 projects have been basically determined.

It was introduced that the main material needs in the current electric power supply field are as follows:

- Conductor products (cables, wires) - total length of 4,447 kilometers;

- Transmission line components (supports, insulators, utility poles, joints, equipment, etc.) - 138,334 items;

- Transformers - 318 units;

- Distribution devices, outdoor combined substations, switchboard complete sets of equipment - 286 sets;

- Substation components - 2,122 items.
