Cursed Meituan for so many years, is it going to be "whitewashed"? (Referring to the hundred-billion subsidy)
Cursed Meituan for so many years, only to find out that we cursed too early! JD's entry into the food delivery market is unexpected, as Brother Liu has more tricks up his sleeve.
Nowadays, there are more merchants online cursing JD than cursing Meituan. Why? Because everyone discovers that JD Food Delivery's commission ratio, including all fees, is even higher than Meituan. Some merchants have exposed online that JD Food Delivery's commission exceeds 50%, and can reach up to 60% to 70%!
A user pays 24 yuan for an order, after deducting the delivery fee, activity subsidies, platform commission service fees, and other costs, the merchant only gets a measly two yuan.
This is not an isolated case. JD merchants generally reflect that for a 20-yuan order, they receive at most 10 yuan, and less than that may only be in single digits. Didn't Brother Liu say before that he would exempt merchants from commissions? Why is the current commission so high? In fact, if we only consider the platform service fee, JD Food Delivery's commission is not high, but it can't withstand the high activity subsidies.
Take JD Food Delivery's billion-yuan subsidy program as an example. At first, it was said that merchants don't need to pay, and the platform would cover everything. Later, it changed from a 30%-70% split to a 50%-50% split, and now it even requires merchants to bear up to 70% of the subsidy costs.
For instance, the platform gives users a 10-yuan discount coupon, where merchants pay 7 yuan and the platform pays 3 yuan. What was originally said to be the platform subsidizing users has now turned into merchants subsidizing users.
When Brother Liu calculates the merchant commission, he probably doesn't count these subsidies as part of the platform commission. But for merchants, what's the difference? It still means they have to take money out of their own pockets to give to the platform.
To be honest, it's no wonder that so many merchants online curse Brother Liu. When Brother Liu announced that he would enter the food delivery business, he made loud slogans, and everyone was very happy, hoping that Brother Liu could help them make more money.
But now that merchants have truly joined JD Food Delivery, they realize they were too naive. After comparison, they realize they cursed Meituan too early! I think Meituan, you really should thank Brother Liu!
