A new public poll shows that American public support for Israel is further declining, primarily driven by a significant shift in attitudes among Democratic voters, while cracks are also emerging within the Republican Party. About one-third of American adults believe Israel has committed "genocide" in Gaza, with this figure rising to approximately half among Democrats. Only about 20% of Americans believe Israel has not committed genocide, while the rest said they were uncertain. Among Jewish adults, 30% believe Israel has committed genocide, and 49% disagree with this claim. The survey also reveals that divisions within American society over the Israel-Palestine issue are clearly partisan. 58% of Democrats believe U.S. support for Israelis is excessive, and 62% feel U.S. support for Palestinians is insufficient. Among Republicans, these proportions are 21% and 13%, respectively. These results indicate that as the war in Gaza continues, Israel's political support base within the United States is facing increasing pressure.
