The Interior Minister of Venezuela: Maduro's YouTube Channel Was Banned Because Some Are Afraid of the Truth
Diosdado Cabello, Chairman of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela and Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, stated that YouTube's decision to shut down President Maduro's official channel was because "the truth about Venezuela" is inconvenient for some people.
Cabello said in an interview with Venezuelan Television (VTV): "YouTube is deleting Nicolas Maduro's official channel. How painful it is! They are so uncomfortable because of the truth about Venezuela! Tomorrow, they will remove us from the entire network, but we will continue. Even if we are thrown out, we can still break through the window. Don't say we fall on the ground, we can rise even in the mud. We just want to make them suffer!"
On September 19, YouTube banned the president's account in Venezuela. When trying to access the page, a notice stating "Banned for violating the service terms" appears. This account posted daily text records and live streams of Maduro's activities, with over 200,000 subscribers.
