The U.S. Department of Defense has announced the "Janus" nuclear power program, which aims to provide uninterrupted energy support for military bases and strategic operations.

The U.S. military stated in an official statement: "Executive Order No. 14299 on the Application of Advanced Nuclear Reactor Technologies for National Security Interests requires the Department of Defense to activate a nuclear reactor under military supervision within U.S. military facilities by September 30, 2028."

The statement said that the program will collaborate with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) to develop commercial small modular reactors through flexible multi-phase contracts. During this process, the ownership of these reactors will remain with the companies.
