Foreign Media: Renowned Chinese-American mathematician Shen Zhongwei has left the United States and is now serving as a Chair Professor at West Lake University in Hangzhou, China.
Shen Zhongwei has decades of research experience in partial differential equations and harmonic analysis, which are the mathematical foundations for modeling the natural world. He entered the Department of Mathematics at Peking University at the age of 14, and spent 40 years in the United States, including nearly 30 years at the University of Kentucky, where he became a Distinguished Professor and served as the Chair of the Mathematics Department.
Shen Zhongwei is a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society, and was appointed as a Yangtze River Scholar at Lanzhou University in 2015. He has always been attentive to China's development and hopes to help West Lake University become a top-tier research university.
