Foreign media: Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said he is willing to abandon the plan to join NATO before peace negotiations, in exchange for Western security guarantees.

On December 14, Zelenskyy proposed this idea during a meeting in Berlin with U.S. and European representatives, calling it a concession by Ukraine. The U.S. envoy and European representatives participated in the discussion, as the U.S. has been pressuring for a settlement.

Zelenskyy emphasized that the security guarantees provided by the West must be legally binding to prevent Russia from invading again. Nevertheless, Ukraine refused to cede territory.
