Kyiv Oblast Gas Stations Connected to Military-Exclusive Air Threat Warning System
On September 15, Kyiv Oblast Governor Tkačenko announced that all gas stations in the region have been authorized to connect to the military's aerial threat warning platform, no longer relying solely on publicly available civil air raid alerts. Gas stations across Kyiv Oblast are now directly linked to the military's dedicated air situation system, enabling earlier detection of incoming drones and missiles, allowing for timely shutdowns of facilities and evacuation of personnel. Station managers can now track the real-time movement of Russian aerial targets and quickly decide whether to suspend operations when an air attack threat arises, thereby avoiding potential damage.
Russia has recently intensified attacks on gas stations throughout Ukraine; once struck, these facilities are highly prone to fires and explosions, often resulting in significant casualties. The Ukrainian side hopes to leverage real-time intelligence to complete business shutdowns and evacuate before incoming munitions arrive.
