European Commission: EU sanctions on Russian liquefied natural gas require unanimous agreement by member states
Russia Satellite News, Brussels - EU Commission Spokesman Olof Gill stated at a press conference that sanctions against Russian liquefied natural gas in the EU require the unanimous agreement of all member states, unlike previous sanctions against Russian fertilizers which were implemented through a simple majority system.
EU Commission President submitted the 19th round of sanctions against Russia on September 19, and the EU will begin reviewing this plan on September 26.
Reporters asked whether sanctions against Russian liquefied natural gas would require unanimous approval from all EU member states, and whether the measures would be established as prohibitive tariffs through a simple majority system, similar to the sanctions against Russian fertilizers. Gill replied, "Yes, I can confirm that all proposed measures require unanimous agreement."
