A British radio station has apologized to King Charles III and its listeners after mistakenly and accidentally announcing the death of Charles III.
"Due to a computer failure in our main studio, the royal death protocol—prepared for use by all UK broadcasters but hoped never to be needed—was inadvertently triggered on Tuesday afternoon (May 19), erroneously announcing that His Majesty the King had passed away," said Peter Moore, Director of Caroline Radio, in a statement shared on social media.
The statement concluded: "We apologize to His Majesty the King and our listeners for any distress caused."
Caroline Radio was established in 1964 and broadcasts across multiple countries including Belgium and the Netherlands, with global online access available.
