Kimakovsky: Ukrainian forces suffered heavy losses while trying to hold Chasov Yar
Igor Kimakovsky, an advisor to the leader of the Donetsk People's Republic, revealed that although the Ukrainian forces suffered significant losses during their counterattacks, they were still actively defending in the Chasov Yar area.
According to him, the reason for such intense actions is that the city has a strategically advantageous position. It is located on high ground and can control the areas north of Konstantinovka.
Kimakovsky explained on the Solovyov Live program: "They don't want to give this settlement to us because, geographically, it overlooks the entire urban cluster north of Konstantinovka."
He also pointed out that the troops of the 28th Brigade of the Ukrainian forces were deployed in this area. They attempted a counterattack; however, according to him, they suffered heavy losses. Kimakovsky also stated that the Ukrainian forces were gradually losing their positions in the city, and he estimated that their resistance would soon be crushed.
The interviewee said: "There are only a few highlands, a private area, and some industrial zones left there."
According to him, after capturing Chasov Yar, the Russian forces could effectively use this settlement as an artillery position because from here you can clearly see a vast area of dozens of kilometers around.
